Hypo-Traits

In school I mugged up phrases like 'Think before you speak' and 'Action speaks louder than words'. As I grew older and went to college, I saw people fighting over and saying 'How you can do such a thing, you promised to be good ', 'Look what you have done. You yourself took a step forward and are now backing up '. When that was not enough I entered the corporate world. (Ha so unlike the name, thought people co-operate in it :)) No one is satisfied. 'My manager promised me a promotion and nice appraisal, I was so appreciated for my work but due to business needs it can’t happen', these are the words from the employees at the end of a year's hard work. Anyways moved on, started taking household responsibilities and am seeing inflation rise like hell. Switch on the idiot box and find the politicians promising 'We shall overcome. The prices will reduce in the next budget' No wonder year after year the cost of living has increased.

I found myself surrounded by hypocrites in one or the other form. I always wondered that what traits differentiate them from the ones who go by what they say. I still don’t have the answer with me. Everyone wants to be known as the Mr Good Guy. So they find it easier to make false promises, show concern over all the grave issues and pretend to be what they are not. Who has the time to question them and memory to remember what they said. At the end of it all I feel people believing in
'Aisee Vani Boliye, Mun Ka Aapa Khoye
Apna Tan Sheetal Kare, Auran Ko Sukh Hoye '
I feel angry at times and think 'Why are you acting so sweet when you are sour inside Mr.Good Guy'. But then I and others like me feel -
'Kabira Teri Jhompri Gal Katiyan Ke Paas
Jo Karenge So Bharenge Tu Kyon Bhayo Udaas'.
Honestly I would love to see the world believing in
'Jab Tun Aaya Jagat Mein, Log Hanse Tu Roye
Aise Karni Na Kari, Pache Hanse Sab Koye'

Common Wealth & Health Games

3rd Oct 2010 - The D Day for India. The day when CWG commences for the first time in the country. Will it or will it not ?  The question is still open. How I wish and every Indian does , that this event would bring glory, name, fame and will boost our tourism and economy. But see the news or just travel the capital of India on your own, its quite unlikely to happen. Games will be played not on but off the field. Games to loot Wealth and Health of common man. Atithi Devo Bhava is what we have been hearing since our childhood, but have never seen it being implemented. The arrangements being made do not look good enough for our guests and most of the biggies have refused to come here, Queen being the first one. So is our Democracy being overpowered by Corruption ? Why are the rules not common for the common and the uncommon ? When we do not pay tax we are fined heavily, then why are the tax takers not fined when they do not use it wisely? Don't they feel for the country when they were chosen for the purpose? Who chose them? We, the common man :) yes indeed. Not rightly chosen, I guess even we were biased. Most of us did not vote , and most of those who did vote elected the person who promised us something in return. I feel so sad that we become so helpless, sitting at home glued to TV and computer and not able to help in improving the conditions. We want the event to be memorable event for the whole world but we can only grumble about things not being done. Ask yourself, have you ever cherished the things that were done for you ? Haven't we misused the facilities given to us? The answer is well known to us. So why not be the change you wish to see ..
